Eyelash Extensions in Singapore: A Beginner’s Guide
Eyelash extensions add fibres to individual natural lashes to create length, fullness or both. They are professionally applied and need care and maintenance as your natural lashes grow and shed.

For a first appointment, the most useful decision is the finish you want and the upkeep you can manage. You do not need to choose every technical detail before speaking to the artist.
How do extensions differ from strip lashes and lash lifts?
Strip lashes use a removable band for temporary wear. A lash lift reshapes the lashes you already have rather than adding fibres. Clusters are groups of fibres, with application methods that vary by product; they should not be treated as interchangeable with a professional extension set.
Ask the provider to explain the service you are booking. This comparison does not mean every studio offers every option.
Choosing a style
Bring a reference for the look you prefer: subtle definition, a wispy finish or more fullness. The artist should assess the lashes supporting the extensions before proposing length, curl and weight.
More length or density is not automatically better. A comfortable, manageable set should take your natural lashes into account. Ask for examples similar to your preferred style rather than choosing only from a heavily edited image.
What happens at the appointment?
Confirm the appointment duration in advance. Application requires keeping your eyes closed while the artist works near them, so allow the time the studio requests and follow its preparation instructions.
Discuss allergies, previous adhesive reactions, eye conditions and existing extensions before the appointment. Ask which products will be used and what screening is appropriate. A consultation should explain limitations as well as the intended appearance.
What are the risks?
Extensions can cause adhesive reactions, infection or damage to natural lashes. Avoid rubbing or pulling them. Eye pain or changes in vision need prompt medical assessment; do not try to solve a reaction by pulling the extensions off yourself.
Daily care and maintenance
Ask for written cleansing and aftercare instructions specific to the products used. Confirm when swimming, exercise and makeup can resume instead of relying on a universal adhesive curing rule.
As the natural lashes shed, the set gradually becomes less full. Ask how refills are assessed and what a new set or professional removal costs. Our refill guide explains maintenance in more detail.
What should the price include?
Check the style, application, removal of any old set, refill terms and aftercare products. A first-trial price may differ from the cost of maintaining the look. Use our lash value checklist to compare quotes.
